Consultant Surgical Gastroenterologist, Laparoscopic and Cancer Surgeon is a Adjunct Professor of surgery at Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G. R. Medical University and a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeon of Edinburgh and England, has had his Surgical training in UK after his basic graduation and specialised in the field of Gastrointestinal Surgery, therapeutic Endoscopy and Laparoscopic Surgery. His fields of special interest include Colo-Rectal, Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and Laparoscopic surgeries. He was also a Consultant and Director at Chennai Transplant Center where in multi organ transplantation where carried out and as a Consultant Gastrointestinal Surgeon in Soundarapandian Bone & Joint Hospital Anna Nagar takes complete control of all Abdominal Trauma in Poly Trauma cases. Besides his professional achievements, he is actively involved in activities of the Association of Surgeons of India. He served as the secretary of the ASI. Chennai City branch for two years during the period of 2002-2004 and was unanimously elected as its President for two years during the period 2004-2006 being the youngest president of the Branch till date. During his tenure as Secretary of the Chennai City Branch of ASI, he lifted the standards of the ASI to great heights and achieved the distinction of the Best Branch Award for Chennai City Branch both from the state of Tamil Nadu and at All India level. He also served as Joint Secretary in the State Chapter of the ASI during the period 2002-2004. He is a teaching faculty for he Dip NB (India) and the MRCS (Edin,UK). He evinces keen interest in part-time teaching of MBBS students from various institutions in clinical and operative surgery. He has organized and tutored many Basic Surgical Skills course, Basic and advanced Laparoscopic Surgery hands-on, conducted by the University, ETHISKILLS Lab and RCS Edinburgh and many courses under the banner of Association of Surgeon of India, which includes Vascular Suturing & Anastomosis Craft Workshop first of its kind in India.
His interest in Trauma has initiated in
Organising and tutoring more than ten Trauma
courses conducted under the auspicious of
Academy of Traumatology Ahamadabad called
(NTMC) National Trauma Management
Course.
He has presented many papers
and participated in many symposia and
delivered guest lecture in various National
and International Conferences.
He has
organized many Regional, National and
International Surgical Conferences relating
to his specialty.
He is the Managing
Director, Consultant Surgeon and
Gastroenterologist at SelvarangamHospitals
which is a state of art, Center of
Excellence in Gastroenterology and
HepatoPancreato Biliary Surgery At Anna
Nagar, Chennai.
He also taken keen
interest in expansion activities of the
Hospital, modernizing the Infrastructure,
addition of space to meet the increasing
needs to make available the
Specialty-Services those are not available
in the Hospital, at an affordable
price.

institution is Institute of Liver &
Digestive Diseases and the later hospital is
Specialities and Day Care Surgery. Both
centers have ISO recognition and teaching
and training infrastructure.
Mrs.Rajalakshmi Selvarangan

A visionary, philanthropist, a social worker with unstinted service to the downtrodden and the needy. She was the architect of Selvarangam Hospital, which commenced in the year 1973. Having sold her dwelling home and pooled in all her resources for the development of the Primary care hospital. The hospital over the years has evolved out to a highly specialised center for General Surgery, Surgical Gastroenterology, Proctology, Hepato Biliary – Pancreatic surgery, Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal and Gynaecology Surgery Center. It also offers Gastrointestinal therapeutic and diagnostic video Endoscopy Services.
During the stewardship as an able
administrator, the hospital achieved an
Award “Best Maintained Private Nursing Home
Award” from the Corporation of Chennai. The
Hospital received an ISO 9001:2000
accredition in the year 2006 and continues
to maintain very high standard. The hospital
has linking support departments like X-ray,
ECG, modern clinical lab and ultrasound scan
departments. Latest equipment are being
inducted to keep pace with the growing
technological advances. Teaching and
research are an integral part of activities
of Selvarangam Hospital, which helps to
ensure continuing high standard care for the
patients.
Mrs. Rajalakshmi never had a
liking for materialistic life and used all
her resources to feed the poor and the
downtrodden in the Orphanage and Ashram. She
is an ardent disciple of Sri Ramakrishna
Paramahamsa and spent a lot of her time and
wealth on feeding the poor and lighting the
literacy lamp by impacting value based
education especially to parentless female
children and destitute woman. As a matter of
fact Girls from this institution after
completion of Diploma in Nursing course
conducted by Ramakrishna Mutt are absorbed
into Selvarangam Hospital for 2-4 years to
ensure they are self-employed and
self-supportive after the training.
It
is essentially her idea to form a Trust to
carry forwards her charitable deeds and has
been very generous to have donated her two
big properties in Anna Nagar for the welfare
of the Trust and to continue with the
service to humanity.
Mrs.E Meenambigai

E Meenambigai, after completing her graduation in Chemistry (university rank holder), went on to complete her degree in Law from Dr Ambedkar Law College, Chennai (stood first in college) and also completed the inter in Company Secretaryship.
She is currently running a premier preschools Little Millennium in Adambakkam and Velachery. These have been top schools in their neighborhood since the year 2010. The schools have won several awards in the category of Best Preschools. Meena has also won the best CLO award for more than eight years. She is also active in Rotary holding various positions like Women Empowerment, Membership Development, Spouses Forum etc.

Graduated from Madras Christian College School and was
receiptent of National Merit
Scholarship
Certificate for the year 1968-1969. Qualified in Surgery
from Madras Medical
College and then the Royal
college of Surgeons of Edingurgh.
Has been teaching at Madras Medical College
as a Honorary from 1979 to 1991. Set up
practicein 1985 in Chennai and started
Lakshmi Sundaravadanan Hospital in 2014 of
which he is the Managing Director. Has been
in active surgical practice since 1985 with
a special interest in colorectal
surgery.
Examiner for the National
Board of examination in surgery till 2012
and final Fellowship examination of the
Royal College Edingurgh till 2010. Has been
an Office bearer of the Association of
Surgeons of India – Tamilnadu Chapter in the
capacity of Treasurer , Secretary and later
Chairman for the period 2001- 02.
